After a long off season in 2005, Auto Technic Racing is making its comeback with two brand new E-46 BMW 323i ITS cars. Both cars are fresh out of the shop and ready to race. Anticipation is high after an extremely difficult development process with hopes that all of the hard work will payoff. The team plans on a full schedule for 2006 in both SCCA Improved Touring ITS class ans BMW CCA Club racing.
Starting out in go-karts, Jeff Henderson and Rob Driscoll worked hard to
become successful racing on the .10 mile dirt track. The both changed venues
from dirt to asphalt in 1994 when the machinery was upgraded from Briggs and
Stratton to BMW M Power. Utilizing the experience gained in karting the
adaptation to Auto Crossing was easily realized and they were immediately
successful right from the start. Soon after, the pair began attending BMW CA
driving schools where they both quickly moved up to the instructor level.
Soon to follow was BMW Club Racing where they both drove their 88
BMW M3s in
the competitive JS class. Each driver experienced class and overall wins
over the two years at that level. Both drivers had great success in there
BMW
325is winning all of the local championships in there last full season. The
team plans on
continuing the development of there new cars with hopes of a repeat
championship in the future.
